A selfish Giant and Spring Story: Once there was a selfish giant who had a large and beautiful garden. The garden was full of soft green grass. Here and there all over the grass stood many colorful flowers like stars. The garden was a nice playground for the beautiful children.
After seven years the Giant came back. He saw the children playing in the garden. From the mentality of the ownership of that property, he got agitated and in a very angry voice, he asked what they were doing there.
The children got frightened and ran away in fear. He allowed none further to play in it and built a high wall all around it. The poor children had now nowhere to play. They used to wander around the wall and said to each other how happy they were there.
When the high Spring came all over the country but in the garden of the Selfish Giant was still Winter. The birds did not care to sing in it as there were no children, and the trees forgot to blossom. One morning, it so happened that the children entered through a small hole in the wall in the garden and the giant saw them playing.
And spring arrived in the garden. He was pleased to see them again. He realized that he had been selfish and was very sorry for what he had done. He let the children play in the garden every day.
