There lived a poor but worthy farmer in a village. With the small income of his few acres of land, he used to support himself, his wife and seven children. One day while walking through the fields, he was thinking of how he could add to his income. He found a purse of gold which had been dropped by a passer-by. He carried it home and showed it to his wife who advised him to use it or at least a part of it for themselves.
The honest farmer told his wife that honesty is the best policy and that he would first try to find out the man who had lost it. The owner of the purse, a very wealthy man, was at last discovered by the farmer. The rich man took the purse and gave him thanks, but no reward. The wife rebuked the husband for his foolishness. The farmer kept saying. “Honesty is the best policy.”

The farmer returned home with the purse and asked his wife what he should do. His wife suggested him to sell the gold but he did not agree with his wife.
His wife became angry and left the place. The farmer decided to return the purse to its real owner but he did not know the address of the owner. He was intelligent.
He emptied the purse and searched far and wide to find out the address of the owner. Fortunately, he found the address. He handed over the purse to the owner. The owner of the purse became very happy and offered some money to the farmer.
The farmer refused to take the money and said that it was his responsibility to do the job and returned home.
An Honest Boy story
A boy who found a bag of money: Once a boy named Rakib was coming home from his school on foot. Suddenly, he noticed a money bag lying beside the road. He thought for a while. He picked up the bag and opened it. He found a good number of 500 taka notes in it.
He became surprised. He could not understand what to do. After a while, he set up his mind. He did not count the notes, rather he rushed towards the police station which was near the spot. He informed the police officer of everything. The police officer opened the bag and found a cell number there. He talked to the person who lost the money bag. The man came to the police station. He became happy when he got back the money. Rakib was awarded was awarded by the man.
