The people of North India believe that Gautam Buddha is the 9th incarnation and Lord Krishna as the 8th incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In South India, Buddha is not considered as the avatar of Vishnu. However, the Buddhist doesn’t believe Gautam Buddha as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
